The gondola offers visitors a unique chance to experience the Banff surroundings from above. Visitors are taken in 4 passenger cabins that take 8 minutes to reach the summit of Sulphur Mountain. It is located just 5 minutes from the Town of Banff and it offers stunning views of the area through its 360-degree panorama. It is considered one of the best vantage points, together with the view-decks and Summit Ridge interpretive boardwalk.
The final point of the gondola, Sulphur Mountain's summit, is at an elevation of 2,281m (7,486 ft) above sea level. A long elevated board walk gives you the chance to walk on the mountain''s ridge all the way to the Cosmic Ray Station National Historic Site of Canada, and the historic Samson''s Peak Meteorological Station.
