HI-Athabasca Falls

Location Information

Athabasca Falls, one of the most powerful displays of the battle when water and rock meet head on. As the falls roar on, every year millions of people from all over the world come to visit the scars that this battle has left behind.

Just 6 km further down the highway, you can stop at Goat Lookout, a great place to spot bighorn sheep, mountain goats and other animals looking for mineral licks.

The Fryatt Valley and Athabasca Pass are easily accessed from the hostel offering cross-country skiing, hiking and mountain biking opportunities.

This is a wilderness hostel with limited creature comforts - no running water, no showers, and no flush toilets. We do have purified water for cooking, a refrigerator, stoves and solar-powered lights. Due to our wilderness location, accessibility for the physically disabled is challenging. Please call for further details.
