Waterton Lakes - Alberta

Waterton Lakes National Park is located in southwestern Alberta, bordering on Glacier National Park in Montana. Together, the two form the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the middle of the park is the town of Waterton, a centre for the many activities available in the park. With restaurants, gift shops, accommodations for all budgets, and more, Waterton is an ideal place to stay while experiencing the beauties of the scenic mountain resort.

Like many location near the Rocky Mountains, Waterton Lakes is dedicated mainly to outdoor activities. Visitors should be sure to see Cameron Falls, just outside of town, and water sports enthusiasts will enjoy the windsurfing, canoeing, scuba diving, and fishing in Cameron Bay. The entire family can participate in the wildlife viewing and day hikes available in the area, and people will enjoy seeing the bighorn sheep and mule deer that frequently wander through the town.

Outdoor activities, beautiful scenery, and ample accommodations make Waterton Lakes a good place to experience the natural wonders of the mountains. Some guests enjoy the cruises and wilderness tours starting from the park, while others prefer horseback riding, golf, and more.
