Halloween Inspiration (2006)

By Darren Susin and James Shearer   Trail Canada

Who doesn't love Hallowe'en? What, with all the candy and costumes and spooky creatures, it's one of my favourite events of the year. When else is one allowed to dress absolutely crazy and place all the blame on tradition? If you're looking to get spooked before the 31st, we've searched out some festivities! We've listed only a handful of ideas; but hopefully, if you're unable to get to one of these events, you've got your own spooky evenings planned!

Playland – Vancouver, BC
Fright Nights at Playland will be back to freak you out this Halloween! Goosebumps and chills will accompany you on your journey through new haunted houses and scary attractions. With the Black Hole, the Asylum of Terror, and Bates Motel, Playland's Hallowe'en display could be one the province's best fall attractions! If all the Haunted Houses are not even for you, there's the hair-raising rides! The Corkscrew, Hells Gate and the all new Munchner are ready to scare you to bits!

Ghost Train: Attack of the Creatures From Lost Lagoon – Vancouver, BC
The Stanley Park Hallowe'en Ghost Train is a Vancouver tradition! This year, The Ghost Train celebrates vintage B-movie madness with Attack of the Creatures from Lost Lagoon! Hold on tight as the train goes onto the big screen for an unforgettable adventure filmed in Terrorama! You'll quiver in your boots as you encounter the Killer Bees, The Brain That Wouldn't Die, and The Frogman From Beyond! If that's not enough, there's mask-making workshops, face-painting, and the Haunted Farmyard with its spooky animals.
