The Nicola Nordic club been maintains challenging trail systems throuhout the area for winter sports enthusiasts.
Fishing
The Nicola Valley has a couple of slogans to describe itself but the one that rings most true is "a lake a day as king as you stay". Anglers can come to Merritt any time of the year to access the many lakes, each with its own unique challenges for the patient fisherman.
Hiking
With everything from easy strolls along beautiful lakes to challenging treks into the back country, Merritt is the perfect place for hikers to lace up their boots. The Trans Canada Trail, which follows much of the old Kettle Valley Railway line is a favioriteroute.
Mountain Biking
Local geography and the dedicated efforts of local enhusiasts have combined to make Merritt and the surrounding area a great spot for mountain biking.
