Ecotourism in Alberta

With the foothills of the impressive Rockies towering to the west, and the vast dinosaur bone-riddled plains to the east and south, it is no wonder Alberta is taking extra effort to preserve its land and heritage. With five UNESCO World Heritage Sites and five national parks, Alberta has lots to protect and preserve and they are raising the bar for the rest of the country, by returning acres of land to their natural habitat, removing fences in key wildlife corridors, and reducing their water consumption by pipelining five million litres of recycled wastewater to a nearby oil refinery instead of pulling it from the river.
