Ecotourism in Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island is Canada’s smallest province, but is working towards reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. Currently, the province has a goal to achieve 15% of its electricity from renewable resources by 2010. With the benefit of powerful winds surrounding the red cliffs of the island, PEI hopes to capitalize on wind technology, and install approximately 60 megawatts by 2010. The plan is currently in action, with the first stages of Canada’s first wind-hydrogen village occurring in North Cape.
