Ecotourism in Yukon Territory

The Yukon is an area of true wilderness where people expect to see few signs of human activity. It is also a place where First Nations’ culture and traditional activities thrive. As a result, the province is working hard to ensure that the sanctuary of the wildlife, land and its people are protected. They encourage visitors to use First Nations guides, and to leave any artefacts from historical sites where they were found. Campers are strongly educated with the “leave no trace behind” philosophy, as well as knowledge of how to safely visit bear country.
