Grasslands National Park of Canada

The Grasslands National Park is situated at the Montana border, having an area of 907 square kilometers. The site was designated a National Park in 1981.This park contains great parts of mixed prairie grasslands, being the first park in Canada that had preserved these. The natural conditions such as the harsh climate have given way for several special species of plants and animals to inhabit the area. The species of animals that one can find here are: the prairie dogs, the prairie rattle snake, the sage grouse, the pronghorn antelope, the burrowing owl, species of hawk and the short horned lizard. The park can only be visited at daytime, as there are no camping facilities here. However, the park is full of charm, the local stories are unique.
