The Riding Mountain National Park of Canada is located in Manitoba and contains the highest part of the Manitoba Escarpment. The park is filled with dense forests, being surrounded by prairie farmland. The contrast is immense, but oddly beautiful. The easiest way to get to the park is by following Highway 10, which goes through the park. The place was designated as National Park in 1929 and since 1986 it is also a biosphere reserve protected by the UNESCO. The park stretches over 2900 square kilometers of land and is the home for many species of plants and animals. Agassiz Tower is a point of attraction as it offers a panoramic view of the entire prairie area.
