Sackville is a small town in southeastern New Brunswick, just eight kilometres from the Nova Scotia border. Home to Mount Allison University and a short distance away from the Radio Canada International Shortwave Transmitting Station, Sackville is a place where technology, nature, and history come together.
Sackville has been designated the cultural capital of Canada for 2008; many activities are planned to celebrate the year, while the town’s usual attractions will continue to draw visitors in. Museums displaying everything from textiles to harnesses and galleries featuring fine arts and local crafts are only some of the places to experience the Acadian and Loyalist heritage of the town.
A wide range of sights and experiences await visitors to Sackville, including such events as an international sculpture symposium and a number of concerts and theatrical performances. Tea rooms and restaurants are available for all tastes, and there are hotels, large and small, to accommodate guests.
