Where is Niagara-on-the-Lake? We’re just a 20-minute drive along the beautiful Niagara River Parkway from Niagara Falls; a 90-minute drive along the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) from Toronto; a 75-minute drive from Toronto’s L.B. International Airport; a 50-minute drive from Buffalo’s International Airport in northern New York State; and a comfortable day’s drive from New York City, Detroit and points in between.
Surrounded by vineyards and orchards, our bed and breakfast is located at the corner of Simcoe and Victoria Streets in historic Old Towne, just minutes from the Shaw Festival theatres, shops, restaurants and world-renowned Niagara Falls.
How to get here:
By car from Toronto: Follow the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) toward Niagara. Once across the Garden City Skyway at St. Catharines, take the Niagara-on-the-Lake exit (38B). Merge onto Glendale and proceed through the first traffic light to the second traffic light at York Road (from here, The Shaw is signposted.) Turn LEFT onto York Road, then RIGHT onto Airport Road at the next set of traffic lights. Follow Airport Road through the first stop sign (marker: a totem pole on your left) for about 5 minutes to the second stop sign at Highway 55 (also known as Niagara Stone Road and eventually Mississauga Street). Turn RIGHT onto Highway 55 and drive for 10-15 minutes past Hillebrand Winery, through the town of Virgil, past McDonalds and Jackson-Triggs Winery towards Niagara-on-the-Lake. After you pass Jackson-Triggs Winery, there is a small dip in the road and at the top of the hill, turn RIGHT onto the first street (Anderson Lane) then LEFT at the Library, and RIGHT on Simcoe Street. Proceed past Karsam to Victoria, turn LEFT on Victoria and then immediately into the first driveway on your RIGHT and you've arrived. Come in through the "Welcome" gate at the top of the driveway to the right of the garage.
From Windsor/Detroit: Take Highways 401 and 403 to Hamilton, Ontario, and join the QEW toward Niagara. Then follow the same route as the traffic from Toronto above.
From New York, Ohio or Pennsylvania: Cross the Niagara River into Canada at Buffalo, Niagara Falls (Rainbow Bridge) or at Lewiston, NY (Lewiston-Queenston Bridge). Take the QEW to Exit 38 (Niagara-on-the-Lake). Turn right onto Glendale at the traffic lights and proceed to the next set of traffic lights at York Road. Turn left on York Road and follow the same route noted above to Niagara-on-the-Lake.
