Tourisme Montréal launches podcast site and interactive blog

By Pierre Bellerose   Tourisme Montréal

Tourisme Montréal has innovated once again with the launch of, a brand-new podcast site and, an interactive blog. The sites, developed as part of Tourisme Montréal’s annual leisure campaign for the American market, were designed to allow Internet users to discover Montréal’s many different facets through their exciting audiovisual content.

The concept includes audio capsules combined with text and video files that discuss the week’s cultural and sports events in addition to must-see attractions. The site provides the Web community with a platform for sharing their various Montréal impressions and passions. Content on both sites is grouped under six different themes: festivals and fresh air, cuisine, architecture, shopping, nightlife and cultural scenes, complementing, Tourisme Montréal’s new microsite dedicated to the American market.

The sites are intended to reflect Montréal’s unique spirit and creativity. “Podcasting is an ideal technique for representing our city’s offer because it gives Web users an excellent chance to enjoy Montréal’s fresh and festive atmosphere, diversity and quality product,” notes Carmen Ciotola, Vice President, Marketing Communications. “Our interactive blog, for its part, is a popular tool that responds to the needs of the Web 2.0 community,” adds Ms. Ciotola.

These two projects allow Tourisme Montréal to refine its Web 2.0 strategy by expanding Montréal’s informational presence in the cybercommunity.
