Chipmunks
Chipmunks can be distinguished from the ground squirrels in Canada by the markings on their heads. Chipmunks spend 3 months collecting food to last them through the winter. Heard making bird-like chirps in woodlands, chipmunks are very vocal animals and in Canada are made up primarily of Eastern Chipmunks and Western Chipmunks which vary slightly in colour and markings.
